This past Thursday, Insomniac announced additional details for their upcoming flagship Electric Daisy Carnival festival in Las Vegas. The festival is to take place June 8, 9 and 10 at the Las Vegas Speedway. The event is currently permitted for 100,000 attendees daily, with a potential expansion to 115,000. According to Pasquale Rotella, owner of Insomniac, the event is on pace to sell out shortly.

“Last year’s introduction to Las Vegas was a remarkable event for Insomniac, gathering more than 230,000 people in the desert for an exciting new chapter in Electric Daisy Carnival history,” said Pasquale Rotella, founder and CEO of Insomniac Events. “As dance music continues to explode on a global scale, we’ll continue to push the boundaries of what makes Insomniac unique: a fully immersive festival experience that features hundreds of theatrical performers, interactive art installations, pyrotechnics and special effects, state of the art production, not to mention the largest stage in North America. I’m excited to share what we’ve been developing since last year’s show with our incredible fans.”

Headliners include Tiesto, Avicii, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, Afrojack, Above and Beyond, Carl Cox, Erick Morillo, Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Moby, John Digweed, High Contrast, Calvin Harris, Kaskade and more.

New to the festival this year is the Q-Dance stage. Q-Dance is well known in Europe for their elaborate stage designs.

According to Rotella, “I’ll have over 500 theatrical performers, over 30 carnival rides, hundreds of EDM acts, large-scale art installations, tons of special effects, massive enough fireworks to rival the Olympics … plus much, much, more.”

Currently 3-day tickets are available for purchase for $275 and VIP tickets will be available as well. On Wednesday, April 18, 2012, single-day tickets will be released at 12 noon Pacific time.
