Fresh from releasing ‘Kissy Sell Out’s Mixmag Blowout’ compilation in partnership with Mixmag early in September, the legendary UK house & speed garage DJ and 4 deck master delivers a new E.P. available onOctober 28 via San City High.
Including fresh edits and exclusive originals of party tunes ranging from garage, house and trap, the opening track of the “San City High E.P.” is a remix of ‘TAKE IT LYING DOWN’ by DrDr, a hotly tipped trio hailing from the UK’s seaside town of Brighton. Two of the opening tracks feature newly-signed San City All Star Brookson at the production controls, where assisting in the programming of DrDr, he sprinkles shimmering chords over vocalist Donna Curson’s bright, uplifting voice to glorious effect.
The second track sees Brookson taking over the reigns completely with his addictive deep house joint ‘GOING V.I.P.’ – an instant old school sounding gem already sneaking it’s way into the sets of DJs all over London’s revitalised garage scene.
Time and time again, Kissy Sell Out has proved to be an influential tastemaker in building the careers of upcoming dance talents as well as producing his own hits. “San City High E.P.” features three appearances by the eccentric DJ/producer, kicking off with a knock-out trap collab, pitting his melodies against the Australian DJ/producer, and recent Deadmau5 signing, Trumpdisco. When the Melbourne-born hot shot applies his Proxy-esque, early-Shy FX synth work to Kissy’s trap beats, it becomes clear exactly why this track is dubbed ‘THE BIG RED ONE’’.
It’s a delight to see the vibrant team spirit, so proudly encouraged by San City High since it’s inception, alive and kicking with this release. The collaborations continue with Trumpdisco also featuring on remix duties for Kissy’s ‘UNDER ARREST’ – the pond crossing USA hook-up with, 50 Cent & Justin Bieber producers, The MIDI Mafia, taken from SCH’s ‘ALLSTARS’ album earlier this year.
Finally, we get the previously unreleased V.I.P. trap platter that has been a standout track in Kissy’s sets for many months. Reworked by the man himself, ‘YOU’RE NOT THE ONE’ affirms why Kissy consistently remains at the forefront of what’s hot.
On top of back-to-back-to-back releases and international touring, Kissy remains as busy as ever returning to the airwaves with his new ‘KissyKlub ’ show on Pioneer DJ Radio 8-9PM GMT. The Kissy Klub first aired on BBC Radio 1 five years ago and was often referred to as “the most up-front show in dance music.” Kissy Klub fans can once again enjoy the show every last Thursday of the month.
