Did you hear about the Creamfields line up?

Creamfields-2014-crowd

We just wanted to throw this one out there and bring it to your attention, not because it’s another dance music festival, but because it’s known as the dance music festival. Let me explain…

Back in the day when the U.S. dance music scene was nothing like it is now, when clubs played alternative rock and hip hop, over in the UK, the electronic dance music scene was thriving, much like it is in America just now. In the 90’s and 00’s, the UK had three main players in the scene, maybe four if you counted Ministry of Sound. They were; Cream, Gatecrasher and Godskitchen. Sure, there were other big club nights which sold out every weekend, but, the aforementioned were the big boys. To give you an idea just how important the nights were, the people behind them—Cream’s James Barton (who now runs Live Nation), Godskitchen’s Neil Moffitt (of Vegas’ Angel Management Group and Hakkasan fame) and Gatecrasher’s Simon Raine, the club that spawned the “Candykid” raver trend–have become key players in the world’s global dance music scene.

Each night, and each one of their owners, defined clubbing and helped make it is what we know today. However, out of all of them, only one can really be said to have stood the test of time and to this day, is putting on some of the biggest parties on the planet. Yes, we’re talking about James Barton’s Cream.

Cream ran ( and still runs) in Liverpool club, Nation–which was an old army artillery bunker—and provides some of the biggest and best club events in the UK. Furthermore, it also played a part in molding Ibiza with Cream at Amnesia and still rules the island for the best trance and EDM lines ups to this day. In it’s history, it saw every one of the world’s major DJs play there regularly and bridged the gap between different continents on the map and the talented spinners each one produced.

And then there’s the flagship event, Creamfields, the benchmark for the rest of the world’s festivals. Sure, many have surpassed it and become bigger and better—we’re looking at you Tomorrowland—but mark our words, Creamfields was the one that started everything, or so the history books will tell us anyway. The festival pushed the boundaries across the board from line-up to production and overall festival experience, and to this day it still does.

And now, as we approach summer festival season, Creamfields returns to Daresbury in Cheshire, UK, this August, with what is easily its biggest electronic line up to date.

If we were to list every DJ who was on the bill we’d run out of space, but just to wet your appetite a little, here’s a small taste of what’s going on. Headlining Saturdays is Avicii and none other than everyone’s favorite mousehead wearing artist, deadmau5. Armin will also be bringing his ASOT tent to town with help from Aly & Fila and Cosmic Gate and Steve Angello will host his SIZE Matters tent. Sunday see’s Grammy award winner Calvin Harris, who returns to headline the North Stage where he appeared last year along with Tiësto, Hardwell and Fatboy Slim, who is one artist who has a long history with the Creamfields crowd.

No matter where you may be in the world this August, we STONGLY advise getting there by any means possible!

Check out the full line up below and then check out the teaser video, it’s pretty awesome.
