2024 Grammy Dance Music Nominees Announced

The 2024 Grammy nominations just dropped and leading the pack with some serious nomination swagger is the unstoppable Skrillex, scoring not one but two nods for his chart-topping track “Rumble” and the mind-blowing album “Quest for Fire.” And let’s not forget about Fred Again.., who’s making waves with multiple nominations, thanks to his credits on “Rumble,” his collaboration with Romy on “Strong,” and the sensational album “Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 23, 2022).” Fred Gibson is also stepping into the spotlight with a well-deserved nod in the best new artist category.

But the dance party doesn’t stop there – James Blake is bringing the heat with his nominated single “Loading” for best dance/electronic recording, along with his album “Playing Robots Into Space” vying for the top spot in the album category.

This year, the Grammys are turning up the volume on dance/electronic music by introducing a brand-new category: Best Pop Dance Recording. It’s the perfect stage for dance artists who seamlessly blend their beats with pop vibes, and the nominees are nothing short of incredible. Aphex Twin is in the mix with “Blackbox Life Record 21F,” and the sensational U.K. artist Romy is making her debut nomination.

While the beats are electrifying, it’s essential to note that, as in previous years, there’s still work to be done in recognizing the diversity of talent. Unfortunately, no solo female producer or artist of color made the cut in the dance/electronic categories this time around.

Get ready to groove because the competition for Best Pop Dance Recording is fierce! Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding bring the trance redux magic with “Miracle,” Kylie Minogue delivers a smash hit with “Padam Padam,” and David Guetta is on fire with not one but two tracks – “Baby Don’t Hurt Me” featuring Anne-Marie & Coi Leray and “One In A Million” featuring Bebe Rexha.
