In the wake of Fabric’s closure due to the untimely deaths of two 19 year olds, there has been another death of a 26 year old at the recent UK festival juggernaut, Creamfields. The attendee collapsed at the festival’s campsite around midnight on the Saturday of the festival’s 11th year, which drew in almost 70,000 fans. The cause of death is still unknown.
Two males were also arrested at the festival for attempting to smuggle in over 100 ecstasy pills, and six other people were arrested on the festival’s opening day for allegedly possessing drugs with intent to sell. Creamfields officials have stated that they have zero tolerance for drug possession and use.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said, “Officers continue to take positive action against those who risk others’ lives by attempting to bring illegal drugs onto site. The Constabulary wants to remind people that drug supply at Creamfields will not be tolerated, and officers will take robust action where necessary.”
