After years spent playing everyone else’s parties across the island, German producer Butch is finally throwing his own. Come To Butch touches down at Chinois Ibiza this month as a deliberately small residency — just three dates total, spread across two Tuesdays in August and a closing night in October — built entirely around guest DJs Butch genuinely wants to share a booth with, rather than the usual rotation of names playing six shows a week on the island.
In his own words: “I’m doing my own event this summer, Tuesdays at Chinois Ibiza. Adam Port, Solomun, Michael Bibi, Pawsa — none of these people are playing there. But I will be there, and other DJs. The event is Come To Butch, and I’ll handpick you some really nice DJs.”
The full run breaks down as follows: Tuesday, August 18 pairs Butch with Demi Riquisimo and a Jennifer Loveless B2B Fafi Abdel Nour set. Tuesday, August 25 brings out Paramida, Najeh, and Shawnecy alongside him. The closing night on Friday, October 16 stacks the bill further with Toman, Bambounou, and Carl Bergé.
Sonically, the series stays true to where Butch has always operated: house music and electronica in every direction, groovy one moment and psychedelic the next, deep then euphoric, often within the same set. Chinois Ibiza itself factors heavily into the pitch — a 1,400-capacity room with one of the island’s stronger sound systems, small enough that the crowd can actually see into the booth, a real club rather than a warehouse-sized hangar.
The launch arrives alongside a visual campaign built around Butch reimagined as a string of classic mythological temptress figures — a hairy lady, a showgirl, a witch, a mermaid, a fortune teller, a cowboy riding a fire-breathing horse, and more — each delivering the same beckoning line, viewable now across his social channels.
Butch kicks off this residency on the back of a heavy release run over the past several months, including records on Rekids, Life And Death, Cocoon, Running Back, Permanent Vacation, and his own label Finicky, with more still to come on Saved Records and VOD, plus a remix for Partiboi69. His summer calendar has stayed packed with Ibiza dates and European festival stops, including a four-hour back-to-back with Seth Troxler at Monegros Festival.
Known as something of a producer’s producer and DJ’s DJ, the Mainz-born, Turkish-rooted artist has spent years refusing to play it safe — one set slow-burn psychedelia, the next groovy disco house, or a record so strange it has no business working as well as it does. That range has kept him in regular rotation at DC-10, Circoloco, Pacha, Amnesia, Ushuaïa, Fabric, Time Warp, and Sonus, alongside a legendary run of residency sets at Robert Johnson. His catalog spans Defected, Running Back, Permanent Vacation, Rekids, Innervisions, Cocoon, and Crosstown Rebels, plus a run of psychedelic collaborations with Ricardo Villalobos under the name ButRic, along with remixes for Cassius (alongside Pharrell Williams), Armand Van Helden, and Chris Lake.
Tickets are on sale now via the Chinois Ibiza website.
