David Guetta, the French producer, will make his debut in the metaverse this Friday as an avatar in the online gaming platform Roblox. The show, which will have an intergalactic theme, will feature a 45-minute set and an interview with the producer. Fans will be able to interact with the experience through dance battles, a puzzle to unlock special abilities and archives, and virtual merchandise available for purchase and as prizes.
The event has been created in partnership with Roblox developer Wonder Works Studio and Warner Music Group, which purchased Guetta’s catalog for approximately $100 million in June 2021. This is not the first time Roblox has ventured into the world of electronic music, with the EDC Las Vegas festival streaming on the platform in October.
