David Mancuso, DJ and the founder of NYC’s legendary invite-only parties, later known as The Loft died at the age of 72.
Mancuso introduced underground private parties to New York in the early 1970s as an alternative the the city’s commercial clubs. His first major loft party was “Love Saves The Day” in 1970. His parties rapidly became popular for their eclectic music selection. Mancuso was in 2005 inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame.
