EDC Ticket Holder Arrested for Threats Made

One ticket holder allegedly attempted to threaten this year’s EDC attendees. Abraham Hurtado-Castrejon claims that he had purchased a ticket to 2020’s EDC prior to it being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following the announcement of EDC being postponed Insomniac briefly gave ticket holders the option to receive a refund or use their tickets for the 2021 event. However, once Hurtado-Castrejon missed the refund window he allegedly threatened the event claiming he still wanted a refund.

Although Insomniac claims they had tried to issue him a refund as recently as May 2021, Hurtado-Castrejon still sent a video message to Insomniac’s founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella threatening to pop balloons at the festival that would be filled with lethal doses of fentanyl.

Hurtado-Castrejon was arrested by Las Vegas PD outside of local grocery store and was booked on charges of issuing threats in a potential act of terrorism. He is currently on house arrest until his upcoming February 2022 court date.
