After his somewhat shocking departure from LiveNation/Hard after his 5 year contract expired. Over the Labor Day weekend the dj and party promoter confirmed via tweet that he was involved with the Electric Zoo event in New York which lead to confirmations he was with LiveStyle (the company which rose from the ashes of SFX).
In an interview with the LA Times, Richards said:
“It’s been a crazy 10 years, I don’t know if I’ve really processed it all yet. I’m definitely looking forward to the future and taking on new tasks.”
And on his new employer and the opportunities it brings:
“I should be doing more than one show and one cruise Working with these guys, they have thousands of shows around the globe. I wanted to be involved with more fests and projects, and it seems like a natural progression.”
And when asked about if he was planning a new summer festival:
“I’m definitely thinking about it, that’s part of the reason for the change. After 10 years I’ve been doing Hard, it’s time for something new. It’s nice to be able to hit reset and start something new that’s not cemented in people’s heads. I can take all that experience and make it better.”
It remains to be seen if Richard’s will be able to duplicate his beloved “Ship Fam” from his Holy Ship cruises which sell out and have high reviews from fans.
