The highly acclaimed Balance Music series is collaborating with the South American label Sudbeat, which Hernan Cattaneo and Graziano Raffa cofounded in 2009, for Balance Music‘s next double disc compilation. Cattaneo features unreleased and exclusive material from Sudbeat‘s roster in collaboration with Balance Music on Balance Presents Sudbeat Mixed by Hernan Cattaneo, which will be out worldwide digitally on February 24, 2017 and physically on March 3, 2017 in North America. To coincide with the release, Cattaneo has North American tour dates booked in March that include Washington D.C., Brooklyn, Montreal, Miami Music Week, and Chicago with dates following around the world.
Having celebrated Sudbeat‘s 100th release last year, Cattaneo describes Sudbeat as “Global in ethos; South American in spirit.” With Raffa as Sudbeat‘s Label Manager, Cattaneo has the following to say, “We both think that musical identity is crucial.”
In regards to the new compilation with Balance Music, Cattaneo says, “Like every other album I did, I always want to showcase my sound at a certain moment in time. Working as a DJ, I get hundreds of links with new music every week. It is a great opportunity to discover really interesting stuff to put on the label. When you have a clear music identity and so many great artists on the label, it’s really enjoyable to put together an album like this.” The compilation features Sudbeat‘s network of up and coming talents from around the world, including a few of Los Angeles’ very own rising artists like Anton Tumas, Tara Brooks, and Dance Spirit. Cattaneo also has this to say, “All music on the compilation is exclusive and unheard before, so I’m sure all our followers will be very pleased to find so many fresh tracks to discover. Both mixes are the perfect example of Sudbeat’s identity that of course is also mine as a DJ.”
