Today, Insomniac Events and president Pasquale Rotella settled a civil lawsuit brought by the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission with a $3.5 million payout. The settlement comes after six years of litigation including a criminal case again Rotella (later settled as a misdemeanor and fine).
The lawsuit claimed that Insomniac Events and Go Ventures (partners in NYE events at the site) “engaged in unlawful and/or unfair business practices.”
Charles Slyngstad, an attorney for the government agency said in a prepared statement, “The commission believes the settlement is in the best interest of the public and the commission.”
The settlement today was in advance of the trial to begin later this month with jury selection scheduled to begin on October 10th.
