LA County puts restrictions on upcoming Hardfest Halloween show and cancels 2nd

Los Angeles County, concerned at the recent deaths of 2 young women at the Hard Summer event, has agreed with the Pomona Fairgrounds to cancel the ‘Hard Presents… a Night at the Fairplex’ event on September 10th as well as to downsize the upcoming Hard Halloween party from a prior approved 65,000 occupancy to 40,000.

** Update ** Apparently all events at this venue will be 21+ from now on as well!

Other provisions for the Halloween party (and any other events going forward) include more cooling stations, free water, increased security and increased medical personnel on site. Also printed materials warning of the use of ecstacy will be distributed.

As to if said events will continue, “We continue to study this issue and the propriety of continuing to hold such events on County property,” Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis said in a statement. “… While the Board supports musical events in the County, what is of paramount importance is the health and safety of the youth attending these events.”
