Legendary nightclub Fabric closed in London due to 2 recent deaths

Recently the seminal nightclub Fabric in London has its second recent death tied to a drug overdose. As a result of this, the club has agreed with authorities to suspend operations until the 2 deaths are investigated (at police request).  The suspension was immediate and in the next 28 days a review will be held to determine if the club will be able to reopen.

A force spokesman said. “Officers felt the need to act due to concerns about the safety of those attending the club because of the supply of class A drugs in the venue and the recent deaths of two young men linked to the club.”

A statement by Fabric said: “For the past two years Fabric has operated without incident but tragically in the past nine weeks two 18-year-old boys have died as a consequence of drug overdoses.
“In order to understand how this has happened we have agreed with the police and other agencies to suspend our operation whilst we investigate.”

DJs have voiced their support for the venue including Sasha, Groove Armada, Eats Everything, Jamie Jones and more.

London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, tweeted the following message. Khan has already voiced his support for nightclubs in general and that an effort needs to be done to keep the remaining venues open to contribute to the city.
