Amsterdam label and events company, Dekmantel, will debut its festival in São Paulo, Brazil on February 4th & 5th, 2017. The headliners for the daytime portion of the festival include Nicolas Jaar, Jeff Mills, Nina Kraviz, and Moodymann. Other performers for the daytime event include Ben UFO, Joy Orbison, Lena Willikens, and Hermeto Pascoal. The daytime event will be held at the racetrack ‘The Jockey Club’, and the festival will move to another venue for the night portion called ‘Fabriketa Club’, which the lineup has yet to be announced.
The collective and Brazilian label, Gop Tun DJs, will co-present the event with Dekmantel. Cofounder of Dekmantel, Thomas Martojo, said the following about the festival in São Paulo, “We weren’t necessarily looking to start a second Dekmantel Festival abroad, but after having spent lots of time with the Gop Tun crew, who not only produced a killer party, but also showed us around their beautiful city, I guess we just fell for it completely. São Paulo is in many ways completely the opposite of Amsterdam, which is also why we thought that in this city we could do a festival that’s genuinely different from what we do in Amsterdam.” The São Paulo festival will be the second event outside of Amsterdam for Dekmantel, the first was held in Croatia earlier this month.
A limited number of early bird daytime tickets will go on sale here on Tuesday, October 4th, and tickets for the nighttime portion will be available when the lineup is announced.
