As the BPM Festival has grown in size and stature over the past 10 years, other unofficial events scheduled for the same time with some of the same high profile djs, the 5-year old Day Zero party was justifiably the most well known. After the tragic events this past January in Playa del Carmen, it comes as no surprise that the Day Zero party will not take place. Ostensibly the reason is a new start and a location in 2018 however one can surmise it will be some time, if ever, before larger scale parties will be common in Playa del Carmen and Tulum again. Damian Lazarus who founded the Day Zero party, has indicated he will be playing a more intimate event in Tulum on January 12, 2018 (details to follow later). See Lazarus’ announcement below:
