Southern California’s status as a proving ground for forward-thinking electronic music experiences just got another major addition. ORIGIN Los Angeles has officially been announced, with the venue set to open in Downtown LA’s Arts District in late summer/early fall 2026.
Built as a continuation of the industrial event space at 613 Imperial Street — long known to LA ravers as LOT 613, home to years of warehouse parties and art-driven programming — ORIGIN arrives as a fully realized concept: an indoor/outdoor entertainment space designed to flex across everything from intimate club nights to art, cultural, and community events.
A New Home Base in the Arts District
Situated in one of LA’s most culturally active neighborhoods, where music, art, and community regularly collide, ORIGIN is designed around movement rather than a single static room. Guests will flow between the main music room and a grand outdoor space, with the venue offering a range of entertainment scenarios built specifically around electronic music. With a capacity of roughly 1,000, ORIGIN is positioned to bring real competition to a DTLA nightlife scene that’s long been anchored by Exchange LA.
Built by LA Nightlife Veterans
ORIGIN is the brainchild of Roni Mehrabian and Cyril Bitar, the duo behind established LA nightlife brands SBCLTR and Minimal Effort. Between them, they’ve also built some of the city’s most recognizable dance events, including LABRYINTO, Brunch Electronik, The Maze, FLOAT, and Resolutions. With more than 20 years of combined experience shaping defining moments in LA’s music scene, the pair are stepping into new territory with ORIGIN: rather than another event series, they’re building a permanent, independent music and arts venue.

Programming Built to Shift and Transform
Rather than locking into one identity, ORIGIN is designed to shift seamlessly between club nights, live concerts, promoter partnerships, private events, and large-scale cultural activations. The initial weekly framework:
- Fridays — live, top-tier and indie electronic bookings paired with forward-thinking programming
- Saturdays — alternating between daytime outdoor experiences and late-night house and techno sets
Beyond the weekly rotation, ORIGIN will also serve as the home base for special quarterly Arts District parties, using its combined indoor and outdoor footprint to comfortably host larger crowds. A first talent lineup has not yet been revealed, but is expected soon.
Designed for Sound First
ORIGIN’s futuristic design comes from Marc Dizon, the designer behind Brooklyn Mirage, Output in New York, Hakkasan in Las Vegas, and Sound in Los Angeles — giving the venue serious pedigree before a single show has even been booked.
Sound is the true centerpiece. ORIGIN is equipped with a custom analog KV2 Audio system, specifically designed and tuned for the space, built to deliver clarity, depth, and consistency from the dance floor all the way up to the mezzanine. A separate, dedicated outdoor sound system has been engineered for open-air conditions, preserving sound quality and presence while remaining mindful of the surrounding neighborhood.
The Bigger Picture
At its core, ORIGIN is rooted in an underground ethos — authentic, music-first, and culturally driven — while still aiming to be accessible and premium in execution. With a clear identity, consistent programming, and a long-term vision behind it, ORIGIN is positioning itself not just as a new club, but as a future cultural institution for Southern California’s electronic music community.
