RÜFÜS DU SOL Announce New Mini-fest “Sundream Baja” in San José del Cabo, Mexico

Sundream Baja, the next chapter of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s iconic boutique festival concept, was announced today. An immersive experience that began in Tulum earlier this year will take over El Ganzo Sculpture Gardens in San José del Cabo from May 5th-8th. Over four days, attendees will be treated to parties, wellness activities, art installations, intimate DJ sessions, and live performances by some of the Grammy-winning band’s closest friends and idols.

Sundream embodies the immersive, transcendental ethos synonymous with RÜFÜS DU SOL. RÜFÜS will take the weekender experience to a whole new level with their groundbreaking live performance and tastemaking DJ set, a picturesque contrast that makes them one of the most popular acts in the world. Additionally, the band will be joined by Monolink, Berlin-based duo and Afterlife founders Tale Of Us, Solid Grooves label head Michael Bibi, as well as DJ Tennis and Carlita’s recently formed Astra Club.

There will also be Rose Avenue’s Luke Alessi as well as amapiano champion Desiree, minimal tech heroine Yulia Niko, and Swedish producer and DJ Jonas Rathsman along with Franz Novotny. With their left-of-center sound, Weval will finish off the bill, while Jimi Jules makes his much-anticipated debut at Sundream after his huge track ‘My City’s On Fire’ made waves at Sundream 2022.

Arodes, the Spanish-born underground champion, joins the all-star cast as a continuation of the band’s commitment to highlighting lesser-known and avant-garde movement leaders, along with Mexican underground pioneer Maria Nocheydia, Tulum-based DJ and producer Litos, and fellow underground champion Kalexis also are on the bill.

At the idyllic El Ganzo Sculpture Gardens, Sundream Baja has found its next home. Located just ten minutes from the center of San Jose Del Cabo, this venue is nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the beautiful desert gardens of Baja. On its 12-acre site are some of Mexico’s most renowned living artists’ monolithic sculptures, as well as thousands of cacti, succulents, and palm trees from deserts worldwide. A celebration of cactus in all its forms is intended, following the traditions of the Mexican indigenous population.

A series of intimate performances will also take place in Crania. In addition to the Sculpture Gardens, Crania hosts bespoke events and experiences centered around food, music, sustainability, innovation and creativity.

The announcement for Sundream Baja follows RÜFÜS’ Grammy win earlier this year, their double nomination for 2023, and their ARIA win in Australia. Additionally, the band has just finished their Surrender tour, which sold out some of the biggest venues in the country, including The Gorge, Red Rocks and LA’s Hollywood Bowl. Next week, they will be performing a triumphant sold out homecoming tour in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth.
