Soundcloud Buys AI Technology to Predict Hit Songs

SoundCloud announced Tuesday it has acquired AI music company Musiio, which offers technology that can listen to and predict which songs will become hits. SoundCloud, which is full of amateur music will utilize this technology to sort through hours of music to pick out songs that have characteristics of becoming popular. 

SoundCloud declined to state how much they paid for the acquisition but last year Musiio was reportedly valued at $10 million.
