This week during CES, Technics announced the new version of their famed SL-1200 MK7 (SL-1210 in Europe) turntable, said to be available in May, 2019.
Unlike their new turntable introduced last year aimed at audiophiles, this model’s target market is aimed directly at djs.
The turntable has an unconfirmed list price of £899 in the UK where the product is already showing up at online retailers for pre-order. The translates into approximate sale prices of 899 Euros and $1,200 in the US.
New features of this model include adding a coreless direct drive motor and other sound-enhancing technologies as well as new DJ play functions, such as reverse playback. To initiate reverse playback, the speed selector button and Start/Stop button are pressed simultaneously.
