Ultra acquires Winter Music Conference and announces new China festival in Beijing

In a somewhat shocking turn of events after being written off as dead just weeks ago, Ultra Music Festival has announced that they have acquired the Winter Music Conference and plan to continue to operate and grow the event as an event catering to the business side of dance music.

Marketing and New Media Manager Albert Berdellans stated:

“WMC will allow veterans and newcomers alike to develop themselves and their organizations to become competitive players in the industry. We are very excited to contribute to the vision of Miami as a hub of entertainment, culture and business.”

Bill Kelly, one of the founding fathers of WMC will continue to run the conference and added:

“A couple years ago, we revisited the idea of coming together. At that point the Amsterdam Dance Event and International Music Summit in Ibiza had formed over the course of the last five years or so, but Ibiza is a very small island, it’s very expensive, and it’s not easily available to businesses and fans. Over the years, the significance of WMC slightly diminished because of those, so to bring (attention) back to Miami, this acquisition was necessary.”

News also came out of the new Ultra Beijing event to be held on June 16th and 17th of 2018. This September will also see Ultra’s Shanghai festival.  Tickets are now on sale at UMFChina.com.
