Ultra Worldwide recently announced the Phase One lineup for the eighteenth edition of Ultra Music Festival. The annual festival will take place at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami on March 18th, 19th, and 20th, 2016.
Ultra Music Festival will be featuring three of the most revered LIVE acts in electronic music history. Known as “The Godfathers of Rave”, The Prodigy will be returning to UMF as one of the featured LIVE headliners. Another famous LIVE act returning to UMF is Rabbit In The Moon, who were also headliners at Ultra Music Festival’s very first edition on the sands of Miami Beach in 1999. Australian Drum & Bass LIVE act Pendulum will be reuniting for the first time since 2011 for a very special and rare appearance at Ultra Music Festival. Pendulum will be joined by Knife Party, which was formed by Pendulum members Gareth McGrillen and Rob Swire in 2012. Other Phase One LIVE headliners are Tycho, Purity Ring, Nero, Miike Snow, Destoid, Chet Faker, and Caribou.
Ultra Music Festival 2016 will also be featuring some of the world’s best DJs across a selection of stages like Zedd, Tiësto, DJ Snake, Seth Troxler, Martin Garrix, Marco Carola, Maceo Plex, Loco Dice, Kygo, Kaskade, Jamie Jones, Hardwell, Eric Prydz, Dubfire, David Guetta, Carl Cox, Avicii, Armin Van Buuren, and Afrojack.
Techno God, Carl Cox, will return to host the twelfth year of his legendary party ‘Carl Cox & Friends’ and trance icon, Armin Van Buuren, will also be back for his ‘A State Of Trance’ show.
After last year’s Ultra Music Festival debut, the Resistance stage will be returning this March to Downtown Miami. After welcoming ‘The Afterburner’ in 2015, the Resistance stage will transform into ‘The Spider’ in 2016. The 50 ton, 20m tall Spider structure is constructed fully from recycled materials and shoots flames up to 50 feet in the air. UMF attendees will also witness the ‘Arcadia Landing Show’, which is when the Spider comes to life requiring the operation of 45 people. The show features all of the Spider’s special effects, pyrotechnics, and interactive aerial performances.
