‘Verboten’ Lease Sold to NYC Nightlife Veteran Eddie Dean

NYC nightlife veteran, Eddie Dean, secured the winning bid of $1.2 million for the purchase of the lease for the premises located at 54 North 11th Street, Brooklyn, NY, formerly known as ‘Verboten’, in U.S. Bankruptcy Court last week. The venue is expected to open under a new moniker and creative vision in the Fall of this year. The new space will be operated under the direction of Dean and Director Andrew Inomata, who has worked with Dean at the events company RPM Presents and Pacha NYC. The plan for the new venue is to create a space for artists and musicians featuring Brooklyn’s community life, food, music, and arts. It is anticipated that the venue will continue to book globally as well as up and coming artists for DJ shows and live music events.

Dean returns to his Brooklyn roots with his new venture. He launched the brand and storied club, Pacha, in NYC in 2005, which closed in January of this year after a very successful 10 year run. Dean also founded RPM Presents with the late promotional director Rob Fernandez. RPM continues to produce and operate over 500 events, which include HYTE Festival, BKWRHS, Big Week New York, and Pier of Fear as well as having a hand in bringing EDC to New York.
