This December Paul Kalkbrenner will undertake his first solo live tour of America. Synonymous with Berlin techno, Kalkbrenner is one of electronic music’s most singular artists, who despite topping charts, releasing Platinum records and selling out arenas continues to play the style of techno that has defined his career over seven albums: propulsive and melodic, dark yet uplifting.
After joining Sonar On Tour last year in America and playing Coachella’s Sahara Stage this year, Kalkbrenner recently played a three-hour live sold-out show at NYC’s Output. The forthcoming US tour follows the release of his seventh studio album, ‘Guten Tag’, self-released on Paul Kalkbrenner Music, it was a top 5 album in Germany and a No.1 record in Switzerland.

Kalkbrenner’s Guten Tag North American tour will take in six dates in at revered concert venues including NYC’s Webster Hall, Chicago’s Metro and the Henry Fonda in Los Angeles, the tour kicks off December 5 in NYC. As with all Kalbrenner shows, all tour performances will be live.
A dance music crossover act, who crossed over before the term EDM was even conceived, Kalkbrenner is a Platinum selling artist, who’s track ‘Sky + Sand’ broke the German singles record, spending over 127 consecutive weeks in the Top 100. He has pushed further boundaries with his outstanding and unconventional performance as ‘Ickarus’ in the cult movie ‘Berlin Calling’, which was an unflinching look into one of the world’s most revered sub-cultures, Berlin’s techno scene. Kalkbrenner produced and recorded the movie’s soundtrack, which has sold over 250,000 album copies.
At 15 years old Kalkbrenner became obsessed with collecting the records that were soundtracking the first wave of Berlin’s iconic clubs, Tresor, Planet, Walfisch and E-Werk. He started producing his own music and forged a long-standing relationship with Ellen Allien’s highly influential Berlin label bPitch Control. In 2011 he launched his own label self-releasing his sixth album ‘Icke Wieder’, followed by his seventh, ‘Guten Tag’ 18 months later. Both of his self-released albums were top 5 albums in Germany. His 2011 album tour sold over 125,000 tickets.
