$6,000 Worth of Gear Stolen from The xx’s Afterparty

The xx played an afterparty in Australia this last weekend where over $6,000 worth of DJ equipment was stolen. The band was wrapping up their Australian tour at The Domain when they decided to play an afterhours at a secret location. The party was held at a vacant bunker outside of the city attended by over 400 people. Not only was entry free, but all of the artists played for free as well. The party had been considered a success until the event organizers realized at 6:30am on Sunday that headphones, lighting equipment, a mixer, and CDJs had been stolen.

The event organizers released a statement that said, “If we would have charged normally for a party like this the ticket price would’ve been tons… We lugged equipment for 2 kilometers and out of there this morning across a live rifle range.”
