DJ Snake and 3LAU caught buying Twitter followers

The New York Times this weekend published an article detailing the business behind buying fake Twitter likes. As part of the article, many well known individuals from actors to politicians to yes, DJs were outed (shocker). The two DJs listed were DJ Snake and 3LAU. Both stated to the NY Times that their fake followers were bought by former management who are no longer with either dj.

As some parts of the world especially Asia give much weight to your number of followers when being booked, from a business standpoint its understandable why these djs (and of course an untold number of other djs) would buy Twitter likes. (And Facebook and Instagram).

Of course this is not the first time djs have been accused of inflating their social media account followers not to mention the push to get Dmitri Vegas & Like Mike to the top of the DJ Mag vote by having models ask people to vote for them at Tomorrowland.
