The Magic of Tomorrowland Returns to Shanghai With Axwell, Tiësto, and Lost Frequencies for Expanded Two-Day Run

Tomorrowland’s Chinese offshoot is coming back bigger. Together with global presenting partner Budweiser and China partners Hero Esports and INS LAND, Tomorrowland has confirmed the full artist lineup and ticket details for the second edition of The Magic of Tomorrowland in Shanghai. Following a sold-out debut, this year’s run expands into a full two-day format at a newly upgraded Hero Dome on October 17 and 18.

Each day carries its own distinct lineup rather than repeating the same bill twice. October 17 is headlined by Axwell and Lost Frequencies, joined by Bhaskar, Carly Wilford, Cassian b2b Kevin de Vries, DJ Sally, Hauzer, Linska, MC Stretch, Morten, and Nosi. October 18 brings out Alison Wonderland, ARTBAT b2b R3HAB, Bhaskar, Carly Wilford, Evin King, Joel Corry, Mansun Lui, MC Stretch, Miss Monique, Nosi, and Tiësto.

The venue itself has undergone a significant overhaul for this run. Hero Dome, located in Shanghai’s Huangpu District, now features a 99-meter curved LED screen alongside 80 ceiling screens, creating a 360-degree visual environment built to fully immerse the crowd in this year’s underwater-themed production. For the first time, GA+ ticket holders get access to a new exclusive space called Harbour Villa, a premium area to relax throughout the weekend. The festival is also bringing back Michelin-curated food and drink offerings, interactive brand activations, and a locally inspired merchandise range designed specifically for the Shanghai edition.

Tickets go through official platforms including the INS Land App and WeChat mini-program, Damai, Ticket Planet, Juss Sports, and Mei-Ta Selections. Single-day GA runs ¥788, with GA+ at ¥1288; two-day passes run ¥1488 for GA and ¥2388 for GA+. GA+ unlocks priority entry through an express lane along with access to Harbour Villa and other designated zones.

Debby Wilmsen, spokesperson for Tomorrowland, called the first Shanghai show a huge success and said the team is looking at this as a long-term presence in the city rather than a one-off. This year’s theme, Planaxis, continues the underwater concept introduced with last year’s Paperworld edition, built specifically for the China shows and not replicated anywhere else on the Tomorrowland calendar.

The Shanghai run also marks a decade of partnership between Tomorrowland and Budweiser, who is introducing a limited-edition “Planaxis” Budweiser Magnum tied to the festival’s theme. This year’s event coincides with the launch of INS SEA, a new entertainment stretch along Shanghai’s south Huangpu Riverside anchoring both the Shanghai KPL Esports Center and Hero Dome. Danny Tang, Co-Founder and CEO of Hero Esports, described the Hero Dome upgrade as a long-term commitment to Shanghai’s entertainment landscape rather than a one-time production.
