Major Lazer has debuted a David Guetta remix of “RoTATe wiTh aMeRiCa FOsTeR, sKiLLiBeNg aNd bEAM,” the latest rework of a track that’s already built a life of its own since dropping earlier this year. Guetta’s version follows reworks from Patrick Topping and nusar3000 released over the past few weeks, giving the song its third official reinterpretation.

“Rotate” has become a genuine viral moment, with more than 40,000 fan-made dance videos racking up over 150 million views across platforms. The original is anchored by Lazer’s newest permanent member, America Foster, alongside frequent collaborators BEAM and Skillibeng, the Jamaican duo behind recent hits with Nicki Minaj, Wizkid, and the 2025 global smash “Shake It To The Max” with Shenseea. Guetta’s take leans into his signature strength for bridging club and mainstream sensibilities, reworking the track to function equally well in a peak-time festival set or on pop radio — a different route than Topping’s version, which pushed “Rotate” toward a rolling, groove-heavy club house sound instead.
“Me and America made this the very first time we ever met up at my house in Jamaica and we knew then we had something special,” Diplo said of the original track. “It’s taken on a life of its own since then. Every time I’ve played this song people go totally crazy whether we’re in Paris, Mexico City or Seoul.”
The song’s rollout has leaned heavily into Jamaica itself. This past week, the group livestreamed twelve hours across two days from Diplo’s Kingston studio Pompey and other island locations, including a set at the Blue Lagoon, with Diplo, America Foster, Walshy Fire, and Ape Drums playing unreleased music and running fan challenges alongside guests Busy Signal, Witty, and GIDEON. “Rotate” also arrived with a dance video starring the Lazer Gyals, the group’s longtime dance troupe, choreographed by original Lazer Gyal Sara Bivens and Calvit Hodge, who’s recently worked with Peso Pluma and Camila Cabello. The track itself samples Puppah Nas-T and Denise Belfon’s “Work,” a record that’s already been touched by everyone from Masters at Work to Drake and Megan Thee Stallion.
2026 has been a massive year for the group on stages well beyond the club. Major Lazer delivered a centerpiece performance at the Closing Ceremony of the Winter Olympics and contributed “No Place Like Home,” with Nelly Furtado and Davido, to the official FIFA World Cup anthems album. Amid their first extensive touring run in seven years, the group has played Coachella, Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, and Bonnaroo this summer with a new stage show featuring eight dancers and creative direction from Mike Carson. The current era kicked off with the group’s mixtape GYALGEBRA at the end of 2025, which introduced America Foster as a permanent member, and has continued with tracks including “pAPi” featuring Tokischa.
Major Lazer remains one of pop’s most successful groups, behind era-defining hits like “Lean On,” 4x Platinum “Cold Water,” and 2x Platinum “Light It Up,” with collaborators including Beyoncé, J Balvin, WizKid, El Alfa, Burna Boy, Travis Scott, and Ariana Grande. The Diplo-founded group heads to the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas this weekend, followed by a Major Lazer Soundsystem set at the Singapore Grand Prix on October 9.
