Last Call on the Strip: JEWEL Nightclub at ARIA Will Shut Its Doors for Good on November 21

Las Vegas nightlife is about to lose one of its most dazzling rooms. JEWEL Nightclub at ARIA Resort & Casino is closing permanently, with its final night of business set for Saturday, November 21. MGM Resorts International made the announcement Monday, and so far there’s no word on what will take over the space. ARIA says there are no immediate plans for it.

The news wraps up a run of roughly ten years. JEWEL first lit up on May 19, 2016, moving into the room that had previously been home to Haze Nightclub, which launched alongside ARIA back in 2009. Opening night set the tone for what was to come: Jamie Foxx made a special appearance, while DJ Irie, The Chainsmokers, and Lil Jon handled the music.

Hakkasan Group built and launched JEWEL as part of a Vegas empire that also included Hakkasan at MGM Grand and OMNIA at Caesars Palace. When Tao acquired Hakkasan in 2021, JEWEL became part of the Tao Group Hospitality portfolio, where it has stayed ever since.

What made JEWEL stand out was its scale, or rather, its lack of it compared to the Strip’s mega-clubs. The Rockwell Group designed the room as a glittering, tech-forward space, wrapping it in more than 1,400 feet of LED ribbons and stacking the party across two levels, with five themed VIP suites ringing the mezzanine. The result was a club where you could catch a headliner without feeling like you were watching from the back of a festival field. In recent years the doors opened Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays at 10:30 p.m. and stayed open until around 4 a.m., and those Monday nights became a calling card all their own.

The room also played host to some unforgettable Vegas moments. Usher threw a celebration there in May 2024 marking 20 years of his landmark album Confessions, and the Las Vegas Aces partied at JEWEL after locking up their championship in October 2023.

JEWEL is going out on race weekend. According to the club’s website, Murphi Kennedy is booked for Friday, November 20, and Kid Conrad will take the decks for the final night on Saturday, November 21. Tickets are available at https://jewelnightclub.com.

ARIA isn’t stepping away from nightlife altogether. Easy’s Cocktail Lounge and Lift Bar are still open for business, and a new spot called Alibi Cocktail Social is scheduled to open its doors on Friday, November 13.

For a decade, JEWEL was the place where a Vegas night out felt a little more personal and a lot closer to the booth. If you’ve got memories on that dance floor, you’ve got until November 21 to make one more.
