Another One Hits the Dust – Tomorrowland Winter Edition Canceled!

tomorrowland winter cancelled

Unfortunately the cancellations keep on coming in now with Tomorrowland’s Winter ski festival cancelled today by French authorities due to precautions related to the Coronavirus.

The event organizers gave the following statement:

In the beginning of February the build-up of Tomorrowland Winter 2020 in Alpe d’Huez started. Today, it is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that the French Government has decided to cancel this year’s edition (March 14 -21). Since Saturday we were in close contact with the French Government about the impact of the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) and we finally received their official decision.

The French Government is taking drastic measures regarding the COVID-19 virus in France. Therefore they are enforcing the cancellation of large events, bringing together people from different nationalities on closed festival grounds and event locations.

This follows on the heels of Ultra Abu Dhabi and Ultra Miami’s cancellation news this week.

The ski resort itself is still open however attendees can request for a full refund if they wish. In addition discounts will be given to attendees to use for Tomorrowland’s 2021 Winter and Summer events as a ‘thank you for understanding’.

It remains to be see what other festivals are impacted as festival season is upon us shortly.
