Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” Makes History After Being Honored With The Diamond Certification  


Avicii has received an honorable Diamond from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for achieving over 10 million certified units for “Wake Me Up”. It has made RIAA history by becoming the highest certified song with the multi-platinum digital single.  

“Wake Me Up” Avicii’s leading single has combined house music and bluegrass, resulting in an inspiring soundtrack. The single has reached number one across multiple charts globally. Collaborations with artists such as Madonna and Coldplay helped to launch Avicii into being one of the top pop producers and helped to achieve being the most streamed track on Spotify at the time of releasing the single.  

After topping charts, “Wake Me Up” has continued to reach heights as it breaks records by earning The Diamond Award. This makes “Wake Me Up” the highest certified dance/electronic song in RIAA history.  

Avicii continues his top charting musical impact by celebrating the 10th anniversary of “Wake Me Up,” since being released in 2013. After being met with mixed audience reviews while performing live at the Ultra Music Festival, Avicii’s global success came after the official release.
