European techno party Awakenings is coming to New York on February 14th (perfect Valentine’s day date???) after hosting a tent at Electric Zoo over Labor Day weekend. Techno fans are well aware of the famous parties thrown at the Gashouder venue in Amsterdam. The NYC show will be at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
Per Billboard’s interview with the promoter Rocco Veenboer:
“Since my first visit to the U.S. in 1991, it was always my dream to come and bring Awakenings to this beautiful country that has inspired me so much, I visited two Grateful Dead shows in Giants Stadium and the show they put on was such a powerful visual trip, it completely opened my eyes.
We have formed a great Awakenings North America team which is already working on possibilities in all main markets of U.S. & Canada.””
The lineup features Adam Beyer B2B Ida Engberg, Julia Govor B2B Kamran Sadeghi and Pan-Pot, with more to be announced (Editor’s note – not bad initial lineup but after Time Warp’s lineup they need to step their game up).
