[BREAKING] City of Miami declines to renew Ultra’s contract, festival has no home now

Today the Miami City Commission declined to give Ultra a new 5-year lease at Bayfront Park, its home for the past 18 years (along with Bicentennial Park). The deal would have been for $2 million each year, more than double the most recent lease fee.

Ultra asked for a 1 year deal as well which was declined.

While there still is time for a new contract to be hammered out, with the festival set to take place in 6 months it is not known if a new contract suitable to the commission can be presented. If not, Ultra has noted they will look at other options such as Hard Rock Stadium, approximately 14 mile north of downtown Miami.
