The State of California has announced that live performances will be allowed to resume April 1, subject to the following limitations:
Purple tier: capacity will be limited to 100 people or fewer, and attendance will be regionally limited. Advance reservations will be required, and there will be no concession or concourse sales. Red tier: capacity limited to 20%, with primarily in-seat concession sales. Orange tie: capacity limited to 33% Yellow: 67% cap.
This bodes well for outdoor concerts and festivals later in 2021 with the current substantial decline in infections and hospitalizations in California.
In New York, music venues starting April 2nd can reopen with 33% capacity (100 max people indoors, 200 outdoors). If all attendees can provide negative Covid-19 tests, the caps rise to 150 inside and 500 outside. Attendees will still have to social distance and wear face masks.
