There had been lots of controversy about DJ Kahled’s set at Electric Daisy Carnival this past Sunday night and the cause of the problems. It does appear that indeed there were technical difficulties that were out of Kahled’s hand (though maybe related to his laptop). Kahled’s accusation on Instagram that EDC ‘sabotaged’ his set of course is somewhat laughable, but we can also feel his frustration. One thing also to remember is that many people probably do not realize that Kahled does not actually ‘dj’ at his shows rather the has a dj playing songs while he ‘hypes’ the crowd. So those expecting the typical dj set of someone actually spinning probably were confused.
Pasquale Rotella, head of Insomniac released a statement to Billboard on the issue:
“Due to technical difficulties beyond DJ Khaled and Insomniac’s control, Khaled was not able to perform at his scheduled time on Sunday night at EDC. He arrived on time and ready to rock the crowd, but equipment issues delayed the performance. Even though there were technical difficulties he still got on stage and showed his fans love.”
