DJs give back! Help Solomun and Dixon raise funds for a good cause!

Last week in Tulum, Mexico, the day after the BPM Festival’s last parties, two of the underground’s finest djs, Solomun and Dixon, had planned a beachfront back-to-back dj set, accepting no payment for spinning with 100% of the door proceeds ($20 recommended donation per person) going to schools and educational projects in Tulum. However due to the prior night’s tragic events in Playa del Carmen, the event was cancelled out of respect. Tthe djs still wished to make good on their planned donation to the local community and have set up an online donation page to be able to still donate to local schoolchildren in the Tulum area.

On Monday, January 16th, we wanted to host a party in Tulum in order to donate all the entry money to a local school project. But after what happened the night before we felt it wasn’t right to go through with this party. Nevertheless, we think that the kids that these proceedings were meant to go to shouldn’t be affected by this cancellation. This is why Dixon and I decided to donate the money ourselves. It took us some days to set up the right, sustainable project that we now want to communicate. You can check out the project at the website below, we work together on this with the Tulum government. With our donation we will finish the building of the kindergarden and the foundation of a new, proper school building of Primary school Gonzalo Guerrero. If you wanted to come to our cancelled party last Monday maybe you still want to donate the 20 USD entry we wanted to take at the door to this good purpose. Here’s the page of the project and a paypal link where you can make your donation: http://Zamna tulum.com/donate.html #solomun #dixon #tulum #charity #zamnatulum #kindergarden
