Last week Academy LA launched the new Electrik Seoul K-Pop x EDM party to an excited and sold out crowd ready to jam a mix of their favorites K-Pop tracks in addition to EDM DJ Manila Killa and a surprise appearance by Dumbfounded. To help set the mood of a Korean nightclub, the event also featured spiked boba drinks (yum!), soju drinks, kandi, lightsticks and a karaoke room!
The idea behind the new events is Nino Lee of Insomniac who noted:
“Seeing the surge of popularity of K-Pop in the US, we wanted to do something different and bring the dance music rave experience that we’re known for to this emerging market, Born and raised in Korea myself, I’m excited about this new brand and the possibilities it holds for the Asian communities.”
After the success of the event launch with a sold out night and fans clamoring for more, a second night has been announced for Thursday June 13th at Avalon Hollywood.
Lee also noted:
We can’t wait to take this event to the next level and reshape the landscape for K-Pop and EDM in Los Angeles and beyond. Now that we see the demand for an event of this nature, we’re not holding back.
