Europe’s Oldest Nightclub ‘La Paloma’ reopens


Barcelona’s historic venue, La Paloma, has unveiled its fall schedule following a a limited number of events after years of closure. Established in 1903, La Paloma holds the distinction of being Europe’s oldest operating nightclub.

The September lineup features notable acts including Antal, Machinedrum (performing live), and an extended back-to-back set from Danilo Plessow and Hugo LX. Fantastic Man will also make an appearance. Local fixtures Mainline Collective and the LGBTQ+-oriented Loco Bingo will continue their regular residencies throughout the month.

October’s schedule brings a diverse array of talent to the club’s Saturday night program, including Egyptian Lover, Luke Una, Mr. Bongo, and Ruby Savage. Glove Party is also set to host an event. The Friday night calendar includes performances by Weval, GAZZI, softchaos, Chico Blanco, and DJ Sweet6teen, among others. Local promoters PPL United, Mainline Collective, and ODD CLUB will curate additional events.

As November approaches, La Paloma will transition to its winter ‘tardeo’ schedule, operating from 19:30 to 02:00. This period will see performances from Theo Parrish (all night long), Nightmares On Wax, Toy Tonics DJs, Bradley Zero (all night long), and Hot Chip DJs. The club has also confirmed dates for local collectives Poly Ritmo Club, Mainline Collective, and Jokkoo Collective.

Situated on the border of Sant Antoni and Raval, the 1,000-capacity venue has already hosted an impressive roster of artists this year, including Francois K, Gilles Peterson, David Rodigan, Branko, Adrian Sherwood, Ge-Ology, and Sadar Bahar.
