Ministry of Sound is bringing its landmark 35th anniversary year to a close with a heavyweight run of parties stretching from October through New Year’s Eve. The programme brings back genuine pioneers of the London club alongside key brand showcases from Worried About Henry, Hard Times, Garage Nation, Clockwork Orange, and Louder.
The celebrations kick off with the club’s official 35th Birthday weekend on October 2-3, spread across three separate events. Friday’s Louder party marks drum & bass legend Andy C’s return to the club for the first time in a decade, joined by Charlie Tee and Junk Mail. Saturday brings a daytime edition of the long-running Hard Times, reuniting Kerri Chandler and Moodymann for their first joint appearance at the club in years alongside Flo Real, before the night shifts into URGE, the club’s newer, edgier concept, headlined by Desolat label boss Loco Dice — his own first Ministry of Sound appearance in ten years — alongside Joëlla Jackson, Ramoss, and Basso.
October keeps building from there. Eli & Fur make their Ministry of Sound debut at Parable on October 9, while Seven Lions, Muzz, and Kill The Noise bring Monstercat to the club on October 16. Halloween itself splits into two: a Garage Nation daytime session led by DJ Luck & MC Neat, Scott Garcia, and DJ Cartier, followed that night by Hell Is A Nightclub.
November brings a fresh round of first-timers and returns. Lilly Palmer plays her first Ministry of Sound set as part of Louder on November 7, the same day Clockwork Orange returns for the first time in a decade with veterans Fat Tony, Graeme Park, Alistair Whitehead, and Grant Nelson sharing the bill. Later in the month, Robbie Doherty headlines on November 21 before Armand Van Helden returns to the club on November 28 alongside Jade Edwards, Egmond, DJ Freespirit, and Junior Pappa.
December carries the anniversary year through to its final stretch with Louder, Bresh, UKG Brunch, La Fiesta, Home Rooted, and Soul Session all on the calendar, before the year wraps entirely with Ministry of Sound’s signature New Year’s Eve celebration on December 31, headlined by a special guest still to be announced.
“It’s been a huge year for the club, and we’re looking to celebrate with the same energy we had at the start,” said Club Director Matt Long. “From some of the pioneers who have shaped our history to the next generation pushing things forward, there’s something across the coming months for everyone.”
This Autumn/Winter run closes out a year-long celebration that’s already included the biggest renovation to the club’s main room in its history, the launch of a 35-Year World Tour, the release of Ministry of Sound: Anthology (a book documenting the club’s history), the Boxed In emerging-DJ talent competition, the Last Orders immersive food and music experience, and the brand’s first Ibiza event in more than a decade this past September.
