Pizza Hut and McDonald’s (for real!) drop in store cool music tools

Earlier this year TBWA\Neboko in the Netherlands devised the McTrax. The placemat, developed in conjunction with This Page Amsterdam, works via conductive ink, a small battery and a thin circuit board with 26 digital touchpoints. To play the controller you put you phone on it, download a specific app and begin to make music via in-house produced audio loops, synths and musical effects. Via your phone’s mic you can record your voice or sounds which can be added as well.

Not to be outdone, Pizza Hut has recently dropped a playable pizza box! The pizza boxes are available in the UK as special orders. The battery-powered pizza box sync to users’ phones or computers via bluetooth, and work with any MIDI-compatible DJ software. Features of this trippy pizza box include two decks, pitch and volume controls, a crossfader and for those too lazy to beatmatch a synch button!
