Earlier this year TBWA\Neboko in the Netherlands devised the McTrax. The placemat, developed in conjunction with This Page Amsterdam, works via conductive ink, a small battery and a thin circuit board with 26 digital touchpoints. To play the controller you put you phone on it, download a specific app and begin to make music via in-house produced audio loops, synths and musical effects. Via your phone’s mic you can record your voice or sounds which can be added as well.
