The Chainsmokers announced yesterday in Los Angeles that they will perform at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) on Friday, December 30th. Insomniac and Exchange LA have teamed up again for The Chainsmokers’ largest individually ticketed show and the second-ever dance music event to take place at the LACC in its 45 year history. Insomniac and Exchange LA also produced the first-ever dance music event this last May where it was a sold out show of 20,000 fans. Insomniac and Exchange LA have been producing hundreds of club events in Downtown Los Angeles over the years.
“We must be dreaming that we are playing the LACC. This will be a huge show, and we plan to bring an event that will set the tone for 2017 visually and sonically,” said The Chainsmokers. “Our fans’ experience is above all, and this will be a historic moment for us in our career that we can’t wait to share together.”
The LACC show caps off a great year for The Chainsmokers as they have been sitting at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for eight consistent weeks with their hits “Closer” featuring Halsey and “Don’t Let Me Down” featuring Daya. 2016 achievements for The Chainsmokers also include nominations for four American Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, two Teen Choice Awards, and two MTV Video Music Awards. The duo have also been busy touring the globe with sold out headlining shows and festival appearances, which include Insomniac’s Escape: Psycho Circus this past Halloween weekend.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, November 3 at 12pm (PST) and can be purchased here. Attendees of the show will have access to The Chainsmokers merchandise, food vendors, and beer garden. VIP passes include a viewing area, designated bar, and expedited entry.
