News broke yesterday that Vice’s standalone dance music website Thump will be shuttering with dance music coverage folded into the main website. This comes as part of a 2% layoff at the company affecting approximately 60 employees. This comes after a $450 million venture capital investment in Vice to help it expand internationally and with video creation. While Thump was a competitor of ours, we respected greatly their coverage of dance music and they will be missed.
