Waterfront Day Trip Fest in Long Beach sells out



Day Trip Festival, a recently added staple to SoCal’s electronic music scene, celebrated its sold out third edition at the Queen Mary Waterfront the weekend of June 22nd and 23rd. Marking its time taking place, this sun-soaked weekend kicked off the summer season with pulsating house and techno beats, drawing thousands of eager music fans.

The 2024 festival lineup was a dazzling display of talent, featuring both local LA artists and international electronic music giants. Headliners included the legendary house music producer Kaskade, the edgy techno-punk sensation Boys Noize, Amsterdam’s superstar DJ Mau P, fresh from his viral closing set at Insomniac’s Camp EDC, and the genre-defying visionary Patrick Topping, among many others. The excitement peaked on the first night with an unexpected back-to-back set from Cloonee and Green Velvet, delivering a  rare crowd-pleasing performance. Fans also enjoyed Loco Dice, Seth Troxler, the Queen of techno Nicole Moudaber, house music legend Armand Van Helden among others.

Festival-goers were treated to a fully immersive experience, with hotel rooms aboard the historic Queen Mary ship, just steps from the festival entrance, selling out completely. For those looking to extend the festivities, open-air afterparties on the ship’s roof deck featured electrifying sets from Solardo, Ben Sterling, Kaskade, Hannah Watts, and more, keeping the energy high until 4 A.M. all weekend long.

Day Trip 2024 also unveiled several new enhancements for attendees, including cutting-edge stage production with the festival’s largest stage designs to date. This year’s event introduced additional shade structures and a 25% increase in restroom facilities, ensuring a comfortable and unforgettable experience for all. Dancing to the the backdrop of the Queen Mary on a warm summer day embodies all that makes SoCal and Insomniac’s festivals great!
