Prior to the release of his new album EVOLUTION out March 20 this year, Grammy-nominated recording artist and legendary, top international DJ PAUL VAN DYK (PvD)will come stateside for four special shows starting Wednesday, February 8 in Chicago at The Mid, followed by New York at Pacha, San Francisco at Ruby Skye andLos Angeles at Avalon consecutively. Tickets are available now.Due out on PvD’s own VANDIT label, EVOLUTION is the Berlin-based electronic dance music producer and performer’s sixth studio album, and at these shows PvD will highlight selections from the new album including “Eternity,” his collaboration with Adam Young of Owl City. Along with each of the 15 songs on EVOLUTION, PvD will be offering a video created, directed and produced by visual artist Anthony Burns who recently told Josh Bennett of Billboard.com (12/14/11) they will “…propose a possible future for planet Earth where technology and nature collide in interesting and weird ways.”Prior to these shows, on January 30, 2012, PAUL VAN DYK—recently featured on Wall Street Journal’s “Speakeasy” entertainment blog following his headlining performance at Southern California’s White Wonderland New Year’s Eve event—will join Kevin Roberts of Saatchi & Saatchi, artist and producer Mark Ronson and The Coca-Cola Company‘s Wendy Clark as part of the prestigious roster of confirmed participants for the first edition of midem Visionary Monday in Cannes, France. Visionary Monday provides midem conference delegates with access to a host of forward thinkers for a day of high-octane conferences, discussions, presentations and data exchange focusing on audience engagement. About PAUL VAN DYK:Grammy-nominated artist and globally acclaimed DJ Paul van Dyk has been ranked the world’s No. 1 DJ by DJ Magazine’s “Top 100 DJs” poll two times, something less than a handful of DJs have ever achieved. The Berlin, Germany-based artist last released VOLUME in 2009, an album of his best works to date—encompassing selections from his previous albums 45 RPM (1994), Seven Ways (1996), Out There And Back (2000), the Grammy-nominated Reflections (2003) and In Between (2007). His new album EVOLUTION will be released on March 20, 2012. Aside from his musical activity, Paul van Dyk has always dedicated a significant part of his life to politics and social justice. In 2001, he did a charity benefit for NYC’s Ground Hero Kids and in 2004, PvD was the only electronic artist involved in a nationwide tour with the Rock The Vote campaign. He most recently received Berlin’s Medal of Honor (Landesverdienstorden) in recognition of his work with Ruckenwind, a charity organization he founded dedicated to helping poor children in Berlin. He joins a distinguished list of arts and political establishment figures with this honor.
