A GEM amid the Pandemic

Tomorrowland… nope. Coachella… nope. EDC… nope. Ibiza… nope. This summer’s been a bummer for festivals and EDM lovers who live to dance to their favorite DJs live, but here’s a sparkle in the dust. For those of you who are just itching to get away to a paradise to dance the day away in the open air and watch the moon come up over the shimmering sea, here’s your chance. GEM Fest will be held August 7th through 9th on the picturesque Greek island of Zakynthos, where Paul Van Dyk along with dozens of other acts will be heading to since Greece has been declared exempt from all travel bans because of its low number of COVID-19 cases. The festival will have full safety measures in place, with testing for VIP guests and thermoscreening for all upon entry to the festival.

Three days will probably go by in a blur if you take the time in between sets to go explore the Keri village of Zakynthos with its sheer white cliffs dropping into seas of milky blue and sapphire, wild beauty of ancient stony hills, pine and cedar forests, 1000-year old olive groves, agate beaches, fishing harbor, coves with green pools and wind-sculpted boulders, luminous underwater caves and the iconic beach at Marathonisi Island. And if you want to jump on a boat for a bit of history, you can head over to Navagio Beach, the site of a famed 1980 shipwreck resting in a sandy cove framed by cliffs. Add all of this to the GEM Fest world of sports, games, flea markets and exhibitions and this electronic music getaway may just be the recharge you need after months of isolation. Tomorrow is never guaranteed, so make the most of your today. Meet kindred souls, enjoy healing nature, free self-expression and have the time and space for your own epiphany.

Talent includes: Paul Van Dyk, Swanky Tunes, dOP (live), Onur Ozer, Andrea Ferlin, Marikhi, Efim Kerbut and more
