Above & Beyond Release DJ Set on Apple Music’s Spatial Audio One Mix Series

Above & Beyond have teamed up with Apple Music for the latest edition of the platform’s celebrated One Mix series, the premier showcase for the world’s best DJs. Recorded and presented in immersive Spatial Audio, the hour-long continuous mix travels across the trio’s entire catalog, from their seminal debut album ‘Tri-State’ through their latest studio album ‘Bigger Than All Of Us,’ giving longtime fans an entirely new way to experience some of the band’s most beloved recordings.

Rather than putting together a straightforward retrospective, Above & Beyond’s Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki and Tony McGuinness went back to the original multitrack sessions behind the songs that have defined the group’s evolution over the past two and a half decades. Revisiting those recordings in Spatial Audio surfaced subtle musical details, harmonies and textures often buried in traditional stereo mixes, giving old favorites new depth while keeping the emotional core that has connected with fans worldwide.

“This is a retrospective mix featuring music of ours from the last 25 years, from ‘Tri-State’ to ‘Bigger Than All Of Us,’ and all points in between,” the trio shared. “It’s been very revealing to deep dive into old projects, remembering the parts that aren’t so obvious in the stereo mix, that become players in the Spatial Audio mix.”

The One Mix continues Above & Beyond’s ongoing creative relationship with Apple Music, following the trio’s appearance on Apple Music 1 for an in-depth sit-down with Zane Lowe about ‘Bigger Than All Of Us,’ touching on themes of connection, creativity, mental health, and the community that has grown around their music.

Flowing across fifteen tracks, the mix traces the band’s musical journey through defining releases including “Don’t Leave,” “Can’t Sleep,” “Blue Monday,” “We’re All We Need,” “Sun & Moon,” “Northern Soul,” “Blue Sky Action,” and “Walter White,” alongside more recent favorites including “Gratitude,” “Quicksand (Don’t Go),” “Start A Fire,” and “Bigger Than All Of Us.” The journey wraps with the newly reimagined 2025 version of “Good For Me,” bringing the band’s past and present together in one continuous listening experience.

For Above & Beyond, the project became more than just assembling a DJ mix — it was a chance to rediscover songs that have soundtracked countless moments for fans over the years, hearing familiar recordings from an entirely new perspective. Mixing each individual track in Spatial Audio let layers of melodies, vocal arrangements, and instrumental detail emerge with fresh clarity, creating something that feels both nostalgic and brand new.

Above & Beyond — Jono, Tony, and Paavo, as they’re known to fans worldwide — have been at the forefront of electronic dance music for two decades. Founders of the iconic Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep labels and hosts of the weekly Group Therapy radio show, the trio has earned two GRAMMY nominations for “Northern Soul” and “We’re All We Need.” Their fourth studio album, ‘Common Ground,’ debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 in 2018. Described by Q Magazine as “the world’s biggest cult band,” Above & Beyond’s resume of sold-out shows includes Madison Square Garden, the Hollywood Bowl, the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre, along with their own record-breaking festival events on Huntington Beach and at The Gorge Amphitheatre.
