As part of his AMA (Ask Me Anything) today on Reddit, Head of Insomniac Pasquale Rotella noted that SoCal’s Beyond Wonderland festival will be postponed to August 27-28th.
The basis for the postponement is that though the State of California has stated it will have a ‘full reopening’ it is unclear exactly what that allows for and to be safe Insomniac will wait until later in the summer to throw the event.Â
In the event the August 2021 date does not work, a second backup date of November 26 and 27, 2021 will be used.Â
In addition other delays announced include: Audiotistic Bay Area moved to November 20 and 21, 2021. Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge will be moved to October 1 and 2, 2021.Â
An interesting side note during the AMA today was that enough people transferred their 2021 EDC tickets to 2022 that less than 100,000 people would have attended the original May date and there was a 2nd weekend possibility that one would have been able to buy tickets for.Â
