Coachella Officially Cancelled for 2020

While the writing had been on the wall for a while and industry scuttlebutt  had already confirmed as much, however tonight official word has come down from the Riverside County public health officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser that the event (along with Stagecoach) will not be taking place in 2020 as a precaution due to the Coronavirus.

AEG has looked into holding a downsized even in April 2021 (approximately 60,000 people) and returning with a 2nd Coachella in the fall of 2021 at its usual 125,000 attendees.

AEG who owns Coachella promoter Goldenvoice is also undergoing substantial downsizing and worker furloughs with no music events the past 3 months and few on the horizon.
