Daft Punk to Score Movie Soundtrack [Update – Not Happening!]

[UPDATE – the movie’s producers refuted this news saying no agreement is in place and in fact no discussions ever took place!]

In unexpected good news today, it has been revealed that Daft Punk will be scoring the soundtrack to Dario Argento’s new film “Black Glasses.”

The Director told Italian magazine Repubblica:

“It will be my return to crime films. It’s the adventure, in the nocturnal Rome, of a Chinese girl and child. In the second part, the escape takes them into the rocky, bushy countryside of Lazio. [It’s] different from the sweetness of the Tuscan valleys, but for me beautiful.”

As part of the article he revealed the involvement of Daft Punk:

“They are my admirers, they know all my cinema,” Argento says. “They heard from French friends that I was shooting a new film and called me [to say], ‘We want to work with you.’”

Argento the added the duo will be sending new tracks to him soon for review.

We can’t wait to hear what the masked magicians come up with. This new soundtrack follows up on their Tron Legacy soundtrack  from 2010.
