Deadmau5 recently announced that he will be joining the online video instructional series, MasterClass. Anyone who is interested in learning his craft of electronic music production is able to view the series for a one time fee of $90. The class will dive into his skills of sound creation, experimentation, and electronic music exploration. He has spent decades honing these skills through trial and error, and will share his experience over the course of 20+ classes via the online educational group, MasterClass. Deadmau5 plans on focusing on beats, synths, melodies, mixing, mastering, and branding as well as teaching what not to do.
“Kids, DJs … anyone can compose music with just a computer,” Deadmau5, aka Joel Zimmerman, told Billboard.com. “My MasterClass is a no bullsh*t look into what it takes to make great music, and it’s not just buying millions of dollars worth of gear. I’m going to show my students how to play with sounds and mix melodies they can share with the world. I’ve never done something at this depth before.” Deadmau5 joins an impressive group of MasterClass instructors like Christina Aguilera who teaches singing, Kevin Spacey who teaches acting, Usher who coaches on performance, and Serena Williams who coaches tennis.
